Rust is more than discoloration. It can hide pitting, reduce section thickness, interfere with inspection, contaminate weld preparation and cause coatings to fail prematurely.

 

LaserNDCS uses controlled laser cleaning to remove rust and oxidation from suitable metal surfaces. The objective is to expose the actual condition of the metal so it can be inspected, repaired, coated or returned to service.

WHAT DETERMINES THE RESULT

The severity of pitting, remaining base-metal thickness, rust scale, geometry, alloy, desired surface profile and final coating specification all matter. Laser cleaning removes corrosion products; it does not replace missing metal or repair structural damage.
