Weld Cleaning
Oxides, Heat Tint, Slag & Spatter

Prepare Welded Assemblies for Inspection, Coating
and Finishing

Welding can leave heat tint, oxide, slag, smoke residue and spatter around the joint. Cleaning these areas improves visibility for inspection and can prepare the surface for painting, powder coating, bonding or additional fabrication.

APPLICATIONS

  • MIG welded assemblies

  • TIG weld discoloration

  • Stick-welded structural components

  • Flux-core fabrication

  • Stainless and carbon-steel assemblies

  • Automotive and marine fabrication

  • Production fixtures and custom machinery

WHY LASER

The operator can focus cleaning around the weld and heat-affected area without automatically grinding the entire surface. This can be especially useful around geometry, markings, edges and finished areas that should remain untouched.

PRODUCTION INTEGRATION

For repeat parts, a successful test can be converted into a documented work instruction that specifies scan width, pass count, approximate travel speed, extraction setup and acceptance criteria.
